(c) Via Clodia II
Thu : Babarano Romano back to Blera to
Guiseppe's friends at the Parco Regionale Maturanum
- I walked around the Babarano Romano old town ..the museum was shut of course. Then I went off to visit Guiseppe's friends at the Parco Regionale Maturanum office where he used to work. Sandra ? spoke excellent English as she used work in the American national park. She & everyone else in the office was very helpful & I left with heaps of good info.

Walking : San Guiliano tombs

- I set off on this route to visit 3 sets of necropoli. Starting at the bottom of this map to the San Guiliano tombs

- coming along the blue path to necropoli like this : (Number blue 1)

Then to the yellow route I
- passing first to a citadel type hill which has the of the San Guiliano church ruin. I climbed the bell tower for a good view.

Next back down and to Q :the Queen's tomb, upto the top down to K : the King's tomb, where you can see old Etruscan carving of the deer

.. the Parco use this as their emblem

Next the orange route

- I saw a way of shortcutting by walking from the Kings tomb along the river valley and then coming norteast into the next valley, below these cliffs

- I came up now and to the tomb hidden in the cliff W : the tomb with ancient writing
- I visited the other tombs there and then back upto the road and the new bridge crossing the gorge... Then along the road to the north west top corner of this map ..to come out on the road between Vetralla and Blera. At that junction there is another sunken tomb .. Tomba Valle di Capellano

Walked back into Blera

- If you see My Via Clodia walk map you can see my route
- As I arrived Narciso passed me in his car and we arranged to meet up a few days later in Canino
