(d) Via Clodia III Porchina
- The first thing I saw after Blera village was this necropolis
Fri - Coffee in Blera
- I went back to the central cafe in Blera as it had been friendly on Thursday. I left the English Parco guidebook at the cafe cos all the customers are foreigners who live in the area. (locals don't go in the cafe cos it used to be the place Mussolini supporters used to go). I talked with American, Dutch, Danish people etc who told me about the big escavations a Swedish University has been making in the area.

Fri - Blera to Norchia

- My plan was to walk from Blera to Norchia. I took the old road going through the village and north above the river. At that After a few hundred metres I passed a necropolis area built in to the rocks. I saw something on a sign about Grotta Porcina and I decided OK I'll go to there en route to Norchia. I continued north along the old Estruscan road

- The familar Etruscan style of makeing a road cutting through rock

At Grotta Porcina necroplis

- Actually the path kind of fizzled out, but.. I always have the knack of navigating without any maps, and amazingly I found myself there , courtesy of a guy repairing a tractor 400m from it.

- It's a large necroplis in the middle of nowhere

- The first thing is an altar carved in the shape of a frog and oxen

- One website has a VR Tour of Porcina

Next walk to Norchia
- The farmer had given basic instructions to get next to Norchia. I picked up a track then to a road and followed my instincts and after 90 mins came to a cafe he had described ...as I was there he arrived on his tractor.

- If you see My Via Clodia walk map you can see my route

- Since Norchia is 3KM away from the highway and in the river valley I first tried to find a path along the river from where it crossed the highway, but I had to come around by road the long route. I didn't get there until 9pm or something.
