- Cracow Life cracow-life.com Heaps of information on eating, drinking and entertainment.
- Explore Krakow explore-krakow.com plain and GOOD
EVENTS - krakow-info.com good list of events mostly music

- Karnet Magazine
The comprehensive Polish and English monthly magazine Karnet (4zl),
at any branch of the tourist office (see p167), lists almost every event in the city. Another free what’s-on monthly magazine.
- This Month in Kraków www.cracow.pl, has less-detailed coverage.
- The bimonthly Kraków In Your Pocket inyourpocket .com, which has a cover price of 5zl but is often free at tourist-information offices, hotels and bars, has excellent coverage of entertainment, including bars, pubs and clubs.
- not much
- In addition to the websites of Cracow Life cracow-life.com and Krakow Post (www.krakowpost.com),
- excellent online sources of information are www.krakow nightlife.com and, for club events and parties, www.kr-nightlife.pl and www.where2b.org.pl nothing for me
| Mon - All day travel : Lviv to border to Krakow
- Nightbus from Ukraine was 211Hr which is 3 times more than an average night-train in Ukraine so instead of taking a nightbus on Sunday I decided to travel bit by bit in the daytime.. So I took a tram to the station - eventually found the mashruta to the border .... walked 1 KM to a queue of 100 people leaving, but as I am a tourist I got waved to the front. Bus to to the Polish town. Then a train was leaving to Krakow for 10 quid. Maybe I should have stopped at a small town on the way. Arrived 4 hours later in Krakow.
- When the train arrived from the east I got down on the righthand side, but the track had turned from the south so I was actually walking southeast instead of the Northwest I needed to go so it took 2 hours to get to a hostel.
- From the station I walked through streets of old buildings to the Rynok - the main city square . It was all way more impressive and touristy compared to Ukraines top city of Lviv.

Tue- Walked around Old Town, Wawel Castle and Jewish suburb
| - Tue- Walked Old town, Wawel Castle, Jewish area.
- It took me until 4pm to do all my research and go to tourist info etc. By the time I got to the Wawel Castle all the pay sections were closed ... somehow got into the cathedral for free .. same old same old ..burial chambers, statues etc..
- I followed the walking trail into the old Jewish Area of Kazimierz.... Seemed revitalised through American and Israeli money
| Wed - Nobel Prize Superconductor Lecture
- At breakfast a Polish guy mentioned a Nobel prize winner was giving lecture in 15 minutes so I ran . Got to the Superconductors Lecture ... turns out that - 1. High Temperature Superconductors can make much thinnner cheaper cable for carrying the heavy current from a power station to the distribution network and
- 2. Low Temperature Superconductors LTS can make ships motors 10 times smaller ... pity that was the only lecture in English of the Polish Physics Society Conference.
| Wed - Explore - Schindler's factory etc - Conversation Club etc.|
- Same as yesterday it took me all day to get organised. Then I went to the city history museum in the Rynok cos on wednesday it's free. It was the same old same old so I'm glad I didn't pay. - Then I took the tram over to Zablocie the industrial area of town which was turned into the Ghetto by the Nazis .. walked to Schindler's factory - where he saved 1000 Jews by saying he was moving his factory to Germany and he needed the workers transferred there.
.... There is supposed to be a big new experience exhibition starting there, but there's not much at the moment. By the time I got the Eagle Pharmacy Museum where the Polish owner had also helped Jews it was closed.
- Ran back and Got to the English Conversation Club I went to the same club 18 years ago
- I wish it had been more organised instead of freeform. It's a bit boring explaining what your name is and job is again and again.
| Maybe go to Zakopane - - I want to go to the Tatra Mountains and I expect the weekend might be too busy so I will go to Zakopane on Thursday.
