Afetr the Whitstable festival I walked the coastal path to Herne Bay, Reculver Ruins and to Margate. My god ! Margate was like the most depressed area in England ..boarded up hotels and vandals etc. I hung around the nice youth hostel in Broadstairs a few days. Then travelled to Sandwich Deal back to Whitstable. Then walked on the North Downs way a while near Maidstone. ...Interesting waste of taxpayers money minibus service cos of bridge repairs . A path designed by a car driver to keep walkers away fronm the roads...but making them go up and down the hills a lot

My friend Diana from the Camino walk in Spain was over from Canada so I went over to Though Tonbridge to Haywards Heath to meet up with her and her aunt. Then I stayed at the youth hostel at Truleigh (on a big hill and not great)at Shoreham
