- As if anyone is interested in my infection
- 2 weeks ago I was coming back cos the infection hadn't quite cleared up .. now my stomachs falling out.
- Traveling around Ukraine a strange infection from India came up. And since after 6 weeks I wasn't feeling 100% maybe losing an hour each day through feeling sleep etc, but I decided I should go back to the UK and have decent medical tests to be sure. It's effects are always not so serious so it was difficult what was going on. - 2 weeks before getting back I found I had to pee almost every hour, but then I thought that was a side effect of the antibiotics.
- then after a few days I was getting another form of diarrhoea, but since I had no pain nor loss of appetite I put it down to the fatty pork in Ukrainian food , so I simplified my diet... less pork and more soup. Some days it seemed to get better but then it would come back I realised it wasn't like normal diarrhoea apart from no pain etc I found it always really stuck to the side of the toilet.
- OK I put up with the morning diarrhoea and running to pee 10 times a day, but 4 days after arriving in Poland I have bloody mucus when I go to the toilet.. non solid poo is one thing is one thing (it's probably just local food), but sure blood in your poo is a serious matter ?
- Still no pain so I didn't rush to come home
- but 5 days after that I'm having to go to shit 7 times a day.... still no pain
- 2 days later I am back in the UK
- and 2 days after that I have to sleep with a bucket next to the bed as I can't make it through the night without going to the toilet a few times.
- from the internet it seemed I could have a prostrate infection .. that would mean
that bacteria are causing my prostrate to swell so putting pressure on my bladder explaining why I have to pee all the time ... Also this swelling would push the prostrate wall into the rectum like a haemorrhoid explaining why the mucus wall was being dropping away. - I was hoping the doctor would agree and give me antibiotics, but instead of saying "Yes I know what it is" he said he didn't ... when the samples came back after another 4 days they showed no infection.
- I went back to solid food instead of soup cos I have a hell of an appetite ..my upper stomach seems to often fill with saliva sending a message it's desperate for food
- Now 5 days later I seem to have got some kind of control over it, by taking imodium 3 times a day. Your stomach is supposed to send food down to the bowels once a day, but it seemed that mine was sending the food down very quickly. The imodium seems to restrict this so the poo is now not coming out as diarrhoea mixed with mucus, although I am still getting the bloody mucus 4 or 5 times a day. - The doctors only suggestion was to put in for a colon inspection .. though God knows when this will be.
- 20 August - arrived in Lviv
- 31 arrived in Poland
- 3 September - first blood and mucus
- 10/9 arrived back 10/9 .. it's so bloody bizarre .. I am 90% OK , but the infection has been going on for 3 months and keeps moving around my body.
