415 My Transport Disaster Day
Tuesday : My Transport Disaster was funnier than the comedian

- in a lifetime of public transport some you will
- get on the bus in the wrong direction
- fall in the gap between the platform and the train.
- miss the last train
- miss the last LRT
- miss the last bus
- have a taxidriver who doesn't have any change
- walk miles
- get all the way back and find you don't have your keys.
If you are me it happens all in one night !

- Transport disaster : I didn't have to wait so long for the 405 and it was totally totally packed, but I managed to get in .. Then it went straight past the turn and I realised it was actually the bus coming from the station not going to .. they both leave from the same stop. So I had to cross 8 lanes of traffic walk 10 minutes and get a taxi, of course the trains were 20 minutes late. I waited cooly and stepped onto the train or rather into the unannounced gap between the train and the platform ..thanks KTM.

- So no steady walk to the bar instead all the way through the shopping center to another taxi. And arriving at the bar less than 2 hours travelling, before the show started. Only to hear Harith Iskander had cancelled well, what did I expect ? a free show by him was too good to be true.

- Eventually there was 30 minutes of not funny comedian. In last decade lots of ordinary people in the UK think they can be a comedian, trouble is they don't know any jokes. This guy was the same. Just like the theatre a comedian has to respect the audience by crafting a show not just saying "my family what a weird bunch eh". Tell me a fucking joke for God's sake.

Transport Disaster 2
- If I hadn't been late on the way there I would have checked the time of the last train, but I didn't bother since the trains are always late and since I had arrived at BTS at midnight many times before I didn't worry. Except when I did arrive at the station no one was there, should I wait ? well if there was no train I would miss the last bus. Now this is the west side of the city and there are no buses to the apartment in the south-east. On the way to the station I had passed the LRT station. I should have taken the LRT to the city to get a bus, so now I took a taxi to the centre where buses leave from. If there was a chance of a bus it's better to take it as the taxi fares go up 50% after midnight.

- The taxi driver had no change so I had to open my bag pocket where I keep my keys and change and then run to the bus. Now I had no change for the bus so had to buy fruit to get it. I knew the last bus was close to midnight, but the buses from this depot had already finished at 11.40pm .

- OK run 1Km to the LRT other people were also going there, but when we arrived the gate was closed. So I walked to the hospital no-one was waiting there. So I walked further there was a woman waiting there, she said her bus hadn't come yet, so there still buses. Amazingly the U27 came at 12.01am it goes to the other side of the hill from the apartment, but I was up for the adventure walk. Too many of the roads were blocked by gates, but eventually I came to the top of the hill, past the friendly dogs past the shy labrador, down the hill, crossing the street to avoid a car I didn't know offering me a lift.

- Arrived at the apartment at 1.30am, but "what no keys". I remembered I had opened my back to count my change on the way down the hill so had I dropped them at the shy labrador ? or at the friendly dogs ? Walked 1Km back no. So had to bed down in the apartment stairwell. On second thoughts after locking the apartment I had had 2 bags of rubbish in my hand, had I thrown the keys into garbage ? So back down to the garbage bin which was dark and full of rats, but no luck there.

-- I woke at 6.30am it was still dark too early to wake the neighbour with the spare keys, OK I could take the bus back to the city to see if I had dropped the keys running from the taxi, with any luck not so many people would had passed or should I wait to see if anyone found them and phoned ? I Stood on the crowded bus for 45 minutes to the terminus, walked back through the tunnels my eyes to the grass. And there immediately were my keys, where I exited the taxi 8 hours ago. Absolutely fucking Amazing, they were still there after 8 hours ! Later in the day the huge thunderstorms would have washed them away.

- Tenacity - This has happened so many times now, by sticking at it, I keep finding objects which I have lost like the last time in Indonesia where I had found my key in a river. - But a 4.5 hours of transport for 30 minutes of bad Comedy I must be mad. I shouldn't have gone in the first place.
