PC397 Week 7 in Ranong Thailand Monday 19/11/07 ...
Sat - Walking

I passed this mansion which is for rent for 170 quid/month much cheaper than a UK mortgage.

Plan to Malaysia
Somehow time has slipped away again my visa will expire in a week and I have reached the 90 day limit for Thailand so this time I can't just pop to Myanmar. I have no ideas so I guess it's easiest to go down to Malaysia. I guess I'll go down to Kota Bharu for a change and maybe pop to the Perinthian Islands.
I'll leave on Thursday so I can stop at a couple of places on the way down.

Mon- WW2 Historical park Khao Fa Chi

On the highway at Khao Fa Chi 30Km north you see an amazing big photo display and sign saying WW2 Historical park, so I decided to check it out.

Still Raining all day. When I arrived at inside there is a rusting loco in a carpark, that seems that all that remains of the Japanese base and they haven't finished building the park yet. I walked along the road 3 Km, but nothing interesting. Waited ages for transport back

Ranong towns annual market
The towns annual market is going on, (as if the town needs another market !). Big, but a bit crap. 3 Big stages, but Tacky Thai singing groups. If you have never seen similar before it would be interesting, but not for me.

What happened in Ranong ?
What happened in Ranong ? It was boring. I never met anyone interesting. The Thai and Myanmar people ignored me. I went to the same restaurant and internet place every day, but no one engaged me in conversation. It just didn't work for me. My fault I suppose, I should have found a way to make contact with the English speakers.
