465t Dhulikhel
Friday- explore
Stopped off in Banepa in the NE side saw all the old temples and squares etc, apart from that it's a boring town where every shop is a hardware store.

- walked the 3Km to Dhulikhel - a pointless exercise.

- Hotel - Then As usual I got in a rush "it's sunny today, so let's go, it might rain tomorrow", no it won't it's dry season. I walked up to Kalli temple same views of Snow peaks of Langtang which can be seen elsewhere. So mighr aswell walk to Namobudda - should have followed the track road lost time taking short cut paths. - Boring Stupa, boring countryside I've been to too many more exciting places.

- Might aswell go to Palauti, first village Sangpa was OK, fun down like abandoned Spanish villages are then 90 mins boring flat walk, earlier in the day there were probably buses.

- Arrived in Palauti on point of darkness 5.45pm and there was a "load shedding" powercut so everything black. so will have to come back in light.

- Bused back to Dhulikhel, but it also black so took an hour to find hotel.

Sat- Explore Dolalghat and Panauti
- Decided to take bus down into next valley and down to next one to Dolalghat , a market town on rafting river and the junction to Tibet. It should be warm cos so low down, but not so, and was smaller that expected and apart from view of 2 rivers a bit boring.

- Bussed back to Panauti, but actually was also boring, old town with important temples, but didn't look quaint like historic towns in Europe to me just run down and lacking atmosphere .. again I've been to too many more exciting places before.

- Walked a bit in Dhulikhel again boring, but people who stay a long time say it's interesting.

Sunday back to Kathmandu
- The traffic was terrible - plan to go to Helambu Trek for 4-5 days soon ... as it's a low level trek so not so cold, but if I wait it will get colder.

Monday - Got to get everything organised, iodine tablets, NP fee, TIMS, photocopies etc

met with Rudra then left Tuesday

- The British Council donated all it's books to the KVPL Kathmandu Valley Public Library. I found it at the back of the Exhibition Park next to the Tourist Information Office open 10.30- 4.30pm
