516t Big Big Train Journey 21-23/5/09
Sat - train 24 hour

- So that was the end of the North East. I had expected Calcutta to be the next place, but when I checked I found it was much further south than I had thought ... And to get to Rajastan all I needed to do was travel west 24 hours. So the first place to head to was Orcha ruined city near Jansi

- It being summer now all trains were full ..so the option was to buy a Ordinary Ticket and see the TT for a berth.
... Guess how much this 1350Km ticket cost ?

.. 215Rp =$4 yes 3 quid !

Sat- Sardine train journey
- Cheap, but by 8pm it was obvious there were no berths we were 7 in seats for 3 ..so they doubled up and I slept on the floor... Cos for Indians there is a big big difference ... But for me it's OK as the seats are dirty as well.
Sun - More train stress
- Arrived in Kanpur - had to run out get a ticket to Jhansi... This train was even more crowded I couple even get in the ordinary section I just squeezed into the toilet of the last AC car for the 4 hour journey... I met an interesting schoolboy on a 50 hour journey to Chennai.

Back to real India
- Jhansi this was back to the real India with Autorickshaw drivers hassling me and overcharging outrageously ... Fuck them ! I hope Shiva gets them back in the afterlife !
- Anyway I made it to the ruined city of Orcha

Pissing on Shiva
- These autorickshaw drivers, guides etc piss me off cos they call out and drive along me aiming to get a highprice off me. What to do .. I can put a bootprint on the vehicle. But I started a new technique .. Since they are all devout Hindus If they piss me off, I conjure up a mental image of pissing on Shiva. Indeed I have a picture of Krishna which I pull out and slap "saying Krishna pass this slap on"
