Fri- Arrive back

- checked into Youth Hostel - crap it was full of noisy Banglas who switched on the light and chatted loudly after they arrived back after midnight

- Metup with Subra - no beer as closed for Easter Friday

Sat - Khasi Festival

- Moved to another hotel, but it sucks a bit a well ......in the lobby a bossy Punjabi tourist was treating the staff like shit.. but he turned out to be the owner.. listen mate respect your staff and you won't have to keep looking for new workers

- internet

- over to the Seng Khasi College .. where the Old traditional Dance (Shad Suk Mynsiem) a kind of pre-Christian Harvest Festival Ceremony was ... the dance was a bit boring same thing again and again, but met some interesting people

- in cafe eating giant momo (taifu) when the procession went past ... dancers were a bit more lively than before so followed it 2Km to the temple ..was locked in the temple watching the show for 1 hour.

Shad_Suk_Mynsiem

- Met up with Mayfereen and went for dinner at her famlily's house.

Sun - Bloody Bandh (strike)

- met up with Subra and his friends at Airtel IT support like Sandeep.

- It was about 3pm before I made it to the Cyber cafe. Unfortunately cos Sonia Ghandi was due to visit one Khasi nationalist party had declared there to be a 24 hour strike between 6pm Sunday and 6pm Monday. People seemd unsure as whether the strike would happen, but 5.30pm the place was like a ghost-town. After a break I went to the suburbs to see if I could use a cyber there, but eerything was closed. Hardly surprising that a strike gets good support ..many people were off for the Easter Holiday ..others were not working cos they were going to see Sonia.

Mon- Leave
- I had a couple of days work to do, but since all the shops were closed I couldn't do any work. So I advanced my plans to travel to Nartiang and the Jainti Hills. Went up to Bara Bazaar and really no problem getting a sumo.
