- Has got some world class tourist sites like desert forts, huge temples, views of The Himalayas
- However 2 things temper this 1. There aren't many sites really Europe is much more densely packed 2. Almost everywhere looks dirty and ugly

- A pain in the ass -
- I get a lot of hassle every day - constant calling from rickshaw drivers etc
- instead of interesting conversation I get the same shallow questions again and again
- I meet 100 men and no women every day and so explain that life in Europe is not full of easy high paying jobs and easy sex.

- on top of all that I am sick of seeing people push in at ticket offices, shit on spare land and spit etc

- Actually I already knew I don't like India it's not my type of country. I don't know why I went and I was glad to leave.
- On the other hand it is great travel country It's got a great transport infrastructure and it's cheap to travel around and stay. Other countries don't have $2 hotels.
- Although India is really 50 or 100 separate countries this "Hindi Delhi" culture has spread like an infection spreads through the blood system. As soon as you come down from the mountain or countryside and get to the train station things change and suddenly you are in "Delhi Hindi" culture of hassle and pushing etc.this is what I really don't like.
- Even though I met some very kind people like my CS hosts in Assam this wasn't common enough to make to compensate for the negatives.

- I want to make the seemingly outrageous racist hypothesis that something in Indian culture makes large numbers of people seem less smart and slow
- 1. Not enough sleep - It seems that people generally get up far too early when they haven't had enough sleep to refresh themselves so they are in a half zombie state during the day
- 2. Not enough meat - Most people are existing on a vegetarian white rice diet. I believe if they ate meat then their brain would have more of the nutrition it needs
- 3. Effects of sickness - I did wonder if some kind of sickness causes people to not have full energy. Then this last 2 months I seem to have got mild typhoid which one one hand has no big effect yet on the other hand gives me many hours where I can't concentrate fully so slows me down.

- Every town is the same.
- I wish India well, the people are just as smart as the rest of the world and they deserve the same standards, but they are in some kind of mess they need to get out of first. Maybe I see some positive progress being made .. but along way to go.

- Put it in PERSPECTIVE
1. No one died - although it's not right that some Indian students got hurt
- (racial attacks by Indians on other Indians kill hundreds per year in India)
- the blurring to say every attack on an Indian is racist attack so saying "11 racist attacks this month, when it might have only been 2
- the normal Indian thing about blaming the messenger instead of accepting criticism.

- Monkey behavior - If a guy behaves like a monkey : drops litter or pisses in the street and I shout "monkey don't do that !", that is a not racist attack ... 1. It's not an attack ... 2. Monkey applies to the behavior not the race.

- India is the world capital of racism "castism" and sexism can a female student safely walk around at night in India ? ... can black people walk around a rich neighborhood ?

- Same old story instead of looking to improve just do nothing and blame the foreigners.

- Why is it that there is such a big difference between the capital of India and things in Ukraine ?
- suddenly there is order instead of chaos.
- things are been done by machine instead of 100s of workers struggling.
- There is a good road lined with well maintained historic buildings, whereas in India the road is delapidated and the buildings crumbling. There are also many clean and tidy parks.
- The driving is calm and polite.
- the whole atmosphere quiet and calm instead of the constant tooting and shouting of India.
- I suppose one could argue that in India "there are just so many people", that crowds are noise are inevitable. But Kyiv is 3m people it's just that the culture and systems keep people spread out.
- Could it be that laws are just better enforced therefore keeping away the chaos. i.e. That "no the bus is full, you can't put any more people on", "no you buy some land, you can't just put a shack shop on public land", India's flexible laws do make for chaos in the future e.g. You let someone build a shack and then later you have a sewage and garbage problem.
