I picked up a newspaper aimed at pensioners the other the day I was astounded to see that there were adverts for escort agencies. So it would appear there is a huge market of lonely pensioners out there spending the pension money on escorts. And why not ? do not surveys consistently show coupled people live longer.

Maybe these escorts should be on the National Health. It would cost money so maybe the government could look for ways of cutting costs spent on escorts. They could fix-up single old women with single old men. The whole project could be administered by a newly created Ministry of Love.

Come to think of it couldn't the same for young people. Just think of the current waste - all those single parent families living off benefit - pair them up with a wage earner and the taxpayer saves money. Just look at all the those other singles wasting money and resources duplicating costs : bedrooms, toiletries, appliances. Fix the young people up and they save money and the environment. And you bring more happiness into the world. ...and more danger ! Well it stands to reason if you are more likely to be assaulted or murdered by people related to you .. If you have a partner you're in more danger.

If health, education, trade are worthy of a ministry then surely "love" is too.
