- They can't just take an original story they have to twist it to fit a formula, they have to have a love scene, a sex scene, violence. I hate the characters Time and time I invest my time in watching a film and end feeling disappointed..
- In the TV guide amovie got a 4 star rating so I thought I'd watch it. What a waste of time ...it was a typical movie formula. Within a few hours of arriving at university the lead character has met a beautiful girl. His friends and flat-mates are dispicable characters. Then the next day he very easily meets another beautiful who is not a nice person as she wants him to help him cheat. The upperclass teamleader is a total stereotype so also not a nice character. The girl totally uses him. The teamleader insults his oik friend so his oik friend beats the teamleader up. 10 minutes before the TV recording the lead character also gets into a fight with the teamleaderand then notices that the quiz question file has been left on the chair so he starts reading it. They start recording the show although 2 of them are all bloody. Their team is being thrashed, but start to claw back. Then the lead character supplies an answer before the question has been asked showing he is cheating.
- This is the main point of the story : that he is a nice guy, but in a moment of madness does something really stupid so his life falls apart, but he has to come to terms with this and move on... this is the big lesson here. Yet it all comes in the last 8 minutes of the film, so it doesn't seem like much of a struggle we see him come back to the university and the second beautiful girl is waiting for him..happy but shallow ending.
- Much better is live theatre or the old films where they start out with a good story don't mess around with it to fit a formula.
- I listened to the independents podcast play about Turing, but i was disappointed it was all about his oppression for being gay.
