PC428 Verbal Contract Registration Idea :
BBC Law in Action on low success of rape conviction
- One problem is it's difficult to prove consent so after a bit of brainstorming I came up with this.

- IDEA : temporary marriage by voice/video mail.
- How can a man avoid false accusations of rape and prove consent ? you'd have to be virtually married.
- call up the CLIC service (Confidential List of Intimacy Consent) - type in the other person's telephone number - you both in turn repeat the randomised phrase the computer gives you.

If we have Clicked call CLIC

- The contact is private just between the couple and the voicemail databank.
- All the system does is store that message and it can only be released to a court. A voice analysis would show whether the consent was made under duress.
- the random phrase prevents a rapist using a recording of the woman's voice.
- DOUBLE CLIC- 12 hours later you can call again , this signifies on-going consent
- you can un-CLIC from the other person at any time with another call and the system sends them an SMS confirmation.

- I was just brainstorming after reading the article. I think you can come up with an engineering solution for any other problems.

- I realise that just like there can be rape within marriage it could still be possible to rape someone after CLIC consent, but a man would be safer against most kinds of false accusations.

- there could be an option to set some kind of limitations like a time limit when we record the CLIC message

- The idea is it's confidential and voluntary, but one could think about making it compulsory for people on the sex offenders register.

- here in Malaysia the law says men can divorce by SMS
- even without CLIC you could get your partner to leave you a voicemail in some way confirming consent

- FREESHARE- Yes you can use any of the ideas for free, but you can't claim exclusivity, or claim you invented it. I've got plenty of other ideas. ..My Ideas Blog
Quick Contract registration
- Of course the above technique could be applied to any form of deal, to register it so that the person cannot back out of it later. For most deals it's not necessary as you hand over payment or deposit straight away, but there must be many word of mouth deals not involving money or perhaps involving so much money it's not possible to transfer it quickly. The kind of deal where you'd normally shake hands on; so I guess you could call the service Shukonit.
.."shall we shukonit ?"
- SRcRS Simple Remote Contract Registration Service

- I think some dealing rooms already record the face to face deals anyway. But I wonder if anyone is doing it offsite ?
- I checked- it seems in the US it's the law in telesales. All sales must be recorded through a Third Party Verification service. diamondvoice.com, contract-genie.com, voicestamps.com
- The way it works is companies sign up to 1000's of dollars a year for a voice recording system. This is different from what I envisage which is simpler, cheaper and more secure : i.e. a 50c per call charge, with no prior registration and with the voice pattern verification system their's lacks.

- You are securing the persons ID in 2 ways
- 1. the phone number registered to them
- 2. The voiceprint unique to them

- PROMISELINE :You could even introduce your kids to the tradition of registering their promises that they normally wriggle out of by saying "I never said that" e.g. like "to stop bullying their little brother" or "not to stop off at the video arcade on the way home from school" etc

A solution to : Age face recognition system
- Nakescientists report on face age recognition to protect Oz kids on the internet, but why not use voice recognition to verify the age/ID ?

- summary
- verify the specific ID from voice pattern
- If they are above 18 them temporarily allow adult content to that PC - She said the face age system is primarily to provide age recognition system for internet use. I'm not sure if this a red herring as the system could be compromised in many ways, you could just play a video of your dad. Aside from affirming that people people have wisdom teeth I can't see an easy way of remotely verifying a persons age. However as you mentioned on a previous prog we can remotely verify their own ID and therefore specific age from their voice pattern.

- IN PRACTICE
- The client dials a number the service computer gives them a random phrase to repeat. (this stops anyone just using a voice recording) If the service computer can match the phone number and voice pattern it can verify the actual age and them temporarily allow restricted content to that PC.

- One anticipated problem I can see is caused by the low fidelity of the phone system, but if you speak through a PC higher fidelity could be used.

- Of course some laptops already have fingerprint activation built in so you could go that route.
