Heroin - Just give up you wimp
- BBC Analysis "Richard Weight" seemed to conclude we should stop mollycoddling drug addicts as it's so easy to give up something like heroin. Cold Turkey is a myth conveniently used by addicts to illicit sympathy. Although giving up is easy ..the tricky part is stopping addicts coming back to the drugs when times are hard. BBC weblink

- Naked scientists had some good reports about the Cambridge Science Festival (see their Specials Page ) and the Edinburgh Science Festival, they sounded great.

- ABC Science about language - man when through many stages of dying out and re-emerging out of Africa, the last time was 40-50K ago. So David Rose's, theory all languages including Aboriginal languages descend from a common language as all languages use the same grammar basis of nouns, verbs, pronouns and language is not genetic.

- I find of the stuff written by the blacks there offensively racist. They get talking about nodding when you see "a brother", special handshakes etc, cos that says that I am a second class citizen, that I will be ignored cos I am not black. Yes any form of discrimination if against black people is not acceptable, but nor is discrimination by black people acceptable; 2 wrongs don't make a right. By setting themselves up as belonging to a group, they are excluding themselves from other groups.

- I notice ABC reports that 42% of London's workforce was born abroad. no wonder the government is tightening up on immigration.
